Robert Miller first established his construction company in the San Francisco Bay Area in early 1991.  Prior to that, he was a journeyman carpenter in Colorado, building custom homes in the City of Denver and the surrounding mountain communities from 1980 until opening his business and becoming a licensed general contractor in the state of California.  When he ventured into California, he had already established himself as an experienced and innovative general contractor in Colorado.  He was building “green” eco-friendly custom homes in Aspen and other ski resort towns before building “green” was at the forefront of the construction industry.  As a general contractor, he understands there is a limited amount of natural building resources and that products that are environmentally smart are not only a viable option, but an affordable one as well.  He is working to push legislation that will require more solar power on newly constructed homes in the desert.  If Building Departments can require block fences, they should also be able to require a sensible energy alternative that is abundant in the desert -- wind and sun.

From 1991 through the present time, robert miller construction has completed hundreds of exciting renovation projects from Northern to Southern California.  Some of his first projects in California included constructing a post-modern style, split-level home in Menlo Park and undertaking the complete restoration of a mid-century Eichler home on the San Francisco Peninsula.  At that time, Eichler homes were being demolished or having their mid-century architecture destroyed.  He was one of the first contractors in his field to understand the significance of early California architecture and maintaining them for future generations.

He has also worked as a home inspector which gives him a well-rounded perspective of construction.  He understands structural engineering and is extremely knowledgeable with the current Uniform Building Code.

Robert is also a master carpenter and cabinet maker and is able to reproduce or refurbish many “built-ins” designed and constructed during the mid-century modern era.  He has also done extensive construction on contemporary, free-standing, cabinetry designed for functioning storage space or kitchen cabinet units.  He is now pleased to bring his experience to the greater Palm Springs area and looks forward to assisting you with your next construction project.
